Article ID: KB37457 KB Last Updated: 24 Sep 2021Version: 1.0
Summary:

This article explains how to query a CSO DB to obtain the operational status of a site. This is an alternative way to get the operational status other than relying on CSO UI.

Solution:
  1. Get the authentication token for the site that needs to be used in POSTMAN to send GET request. Refer to KB36299 - Getting CSO AUTH token using development tools in the browser.

  2. Get the site UUID with the following API:

    https://<CSO-IP>/topology-service/device
    <output snip>
    "fq_name": [
                    "default-domain",
                    "default-tenant",
                    "TESTABC"
                ],
                "uuid": "ba86dd1c-6e68-4219-9205-407c30371363",
    }
  3. Use site UUID shown above in the following POST query to get the operational status:

      "POST" https://<CSO-IP>/topology-service/get-device-status
    <post body>
    {
        "input": {
            "uuids": [
                "UUID of site "
            ]
        }
    }

    Output of the POST query:

    {
        "output": {
            "status": "success",
            "device_status": [
                {
                    "monitored_state": "down",
                    "fq_name_str": "domain:tenant:device",
                    "uuid": "site uuid"
                }
            ]
        }
    }

    The output above shows the device monitored status is down, which is reflected in the operational status in CSO UI.
