[ScreenOS] Configuring WebAuth

Summary:

This article will describe how to configure WebAuth for ScreenOS devices.

Solution:

To configure WebAuth, perform the following steps:

Step one: Open the WebUI. For more information on accessing the WebUI, go to KB4060 - Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI
.

Step two: From the ScreenOS options menu, click Configuration, select Auth, and then click WebAuth.

Step three: From the WebAuth Server drop-down menu, click to select Local, or an external server.

Step four: In the Success Banner field, enter a success message.

Note: This message will be displayed to the user upon successful authentication.

Step five: Click Apply.

Step six: From the ScreenOS options menu, click Network, and then click Interfaces.

Step seven: From the Interfaces list, select the interface you wish to configure WebAuth for and click Edit.

Note: For this example, we chose to edit the ethernet1 interface.

Step eight: From the Interfaces edit screen, click to select WebAuth. In the IP text box, enter the IP address you will use for WebAuth.

Step nine: Click OK.
