Summary:

This article explains how to configure a custom Layer 2 zone in Transparent mode.

 

Solution:

To configure a custom Layer 2 zone in Transparent mode, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the WebUI. For more information about accessing the WebUI, go to KB4060 - [ScreenOS] Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI.

  2. From the ScreenOS options menu, click Network, and then click Zones.

  1. Click New.

  1. From the Zone Name text box, enter a Zone Name.

  1. From the Virtual Router Name drop-down menu, select a Virtual Router Name.

Note: The Virtual Router Name can be left at the default trust-vr.

  1. From Zone Type, click to select Layer 2.

  1. Click OK.
