[ScreenOS] How to configure a NetScreen device as a DHCP Relay Agent

Article ID: KB4245 KB Last Updated: 24 Jun 2020Version: 8.0

This article provides information on how to configure a NetScreen device as a DHCP Relay Agent.

To configure your ScreenOS firewall as a DHCP relay agent in the WebUI, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the WebUI.

  2. From the ScreenOS options menu, click Network, and then click to select DHCP

Note: The incoming and outgoing interfaces cannot be in VLANs. Refer to KB12376 - DHCP Relay is failing on redundant tagged interfaces within a single non-root VSYS.

  3. From Configure, click Edit.

  4. From the DHCP list, click to select DHCP Relay Agent.

  5. From the Relay Agent Server IP or Domain Name text box, enter the IP address or domain name of the DHCP server.

  6. Click OK.

    Alternatively, the CLI command is:

set interface ethernet0/0 dhcp relay server-name ""
