Virtual Routers Available to a VSYS

Article ID: KB4310 KB Last Updated: 09 Jun 2010Version: 4.0
Virtual Routers Available to a VSYS

By default, a vsys-level virtual router is named vsysname-vr.

This is a vsys-specific virtual router that, by default, maintains the routing table for the Trust-vsysname zone.

For communication between vsys and vsys or between vsys and root sys, you must set up multiple route entries in each different virtual router, including the rootsys level virtual and the vsys level virtual routers. That means you have to maintain multiple routing tables in different virtual routers.

To make the routing setup easier, you can put vsys in "untrust-vr". In this way, you maintain only one route table in "untrust-vr".

For more information on configuring VSYS, please consult the Concept & Examples Guide Vol 7 (PDF).
