Article ID: KB4900 KB Last Updated: 24 Aug 2010Version: 3.0
Summary:

Symptoms:
Can't manage (telnet or WebUI) ISG2000 when packet shaping is enabled on Packeteer, which was placed in-line on trust interface of ISG2000.  If they disabled packet shaping on the Packeteer, then they could manage the ISG2000. Can't manage ISG2000 with Packeteer inline & when ISG's SYSLOG is using TCP
Solution:
TCP buffers on ISG2000 were getting filled up.

If you are having difficulties managing the ISG-2000, it is quite possible that the TCP buffers on the ISG-2000 are getting filled up due to the TCP syslog requests.  To get around this issue, reconfigure the SYSLOG server to use UDP as the transport protocol (default setting), instead of TCP.

From the CLI:

unset syslog config <syslogIPaddr> transport TCP

From the WebUI:

Go to Configuration > Report Settings > Syslog.  De-select the TCP setting.  Click Apply.
