Article ID: KB4918 KB Last Updated: 11 Jun 2010Version: 5.0
Summary:
How Do I Install DI on a NSRP Cluster?
Symptoms:

Environment:

  • DI with NSRP
  • Deep Inspection
  • NSRP cluster
Solution:

Make sure you have a DI license for each device in the cluster.  If you do not have a valid DI license on each device, you will see NSRP out of sync messages.

To load Deep Inspection on a NSRP cluster, all you need to do is set up the NSRP cluster like you normally would (see NSRP active passive configuration).  Once this is set up, from the console of the primary (or telnet/ssh, whatever you prefer), issue the command:

exec attack update [Enter]

The DI signature will be loaded into the primary device.  The same DI signature will also be loaded onto the backup device automatically (you don't need to have an individual manage-ip on the VSI on the backup device).
