NetScreen 200: Interface link doesn't come up
Symptoms:
NetScreen-208
NetScreen-204
Connecting between NetScreen and Cisco device
Full-duplex, 100MB configured for each interface
Interface link doesn't come up

Solution:

It is highly recommended to use the straight-through Ethernet cable that came with the NetScreen.  If the NetScreen is set to full-duplex, it is not supported if using a cross over cable. 

Workaround: Use the straight-through Ethernet cable that came with the NetScreen.

Here is the problem or goal:

  • Interface link doesn't come up

Problem Environment:

  • NetScreen-208
  • NetScreen-204
  • Connecting between NetScreen and Cisco device
  • Full-duplex, 100MB configured for each interface

Causes of this problem:

  • Cross-over cable used will cause some incompatibilities

Applicable Products:

  • NetScreen-204
  • NetScreen-208

Applicable ScreenOS:

  • 3.1.0
