Article ID: KB5325 KB Last Updated: 22 Jul 2010Version: 4.0
Summary:
Configuring multiple VPN connections using 1 Dial Up VPN User
Symptoms:
Environment:
  • VPN using Generic Group IKE ID
  • Dial Up VPN Users with certificates
Symptoms & Errors:
  • A single user can connect but if a second user tries to use the VPN, the first user is disconnected.
  • Cannot have more than one concurrent user connected using Group IKE ID.

Solution:

Generic Group IKE ID requires the IKE Gateway phase 1 configuration to reference a dial up group.  For that reason, when a second user comes in, the first user gets disconnected.

Workaround:  Create a new user group and add all IKE users using the same certificate in the same user group.
