The following features contain the scheduled functionality:

  1. Policy Schedule: This feature configures schedules on a recurring basis and as a one-time event. By associating a schedule to an access policy, an administrator can determine when the access policy is in effect. A schedule can be associated with one or more access policies to define when they are in effect. Through the application of schedules, the network traffic flow can be controlled and additional network security is enforced.

  2. Scheduled Resets: Via the CLI, the NetScreen device can be scheduled to reset at a time that is convenient for maintaining uninterrupted network operation: set timer.

  3. Schedule DNS Lookup: The NetScreen device must perform a new lookup once a day, which can be scheduled on the NetScreen device to be performed at a specified time.

  4. Administrator Schedule: This schedule can be configured via Policy > Policy Elements > Schedules on a recurring basis or as a one-time event. You can bind the schedule to any administrator account (except to the root account) to control the effectiveness of that administrator account. To bind the schedule to administrator account, go to Configuration > Admin > Administrators > Edit and type the configured schedule name. A schedule can be associated with multiple administrators.
