Summary:
Configure a Virtual IP (VIP) address on a Virtual System (Vsys).
Symptoms:
Environment:
  • Virtual Systems (Vsys)
  • Virtual IP (VIP) address

Symptoms:
  • Mapped IP (MIP) addresses are supported on a created Vsys.
  • Cannot create a VIP on a created Virtual System (Vsys).
  • Can create a VIP in the Root Vsys.
  • VIP's are only supported on the Root Vsys
Solution:
System devices only support Virtual IP (VIP) on the Root Virtual System (VSYS).  Mapped IP (MIP) can be used on VSYS, instead of VIPs, for inbound connections when Network Address Translation (NAT) is being used.
