Article ID: KB5531 KB Last Updated: 11 Aug 2010Version: 3.0
Summary:
Cannot add more Mapped IP Entries to an interface in ScreenOS 3.0.x
Symptoms:
Cannot add more Mapped IP Entries to an interface A special version, support 500 MIP entries, is available for the NS25 and NS50
Solution:

This solution applies to ScreenOS 3.0.0 through 3.0.3:

While the Marketing Documentation describes supporting up to 1,000 Mapped IPs (MIP) for certain products, there is a limitation as to how many MIP entries may be configured on them.'  A single MIP entry can map a large number of IP addresses from one side to the other in contiguous blocks along the bit boundary.

Currently, the number of MIP Entries support on NetScreen Products:

  • NS5XP: 10 Entries
  • NS25: 64 Entries
  • NS50: 64' Entries
