There are 5 options for finding a solution on the NetScreen Knowledgebase:
- Quick Search
- Top Solutions
- Search nskb Solution ID
Quick Search
On the Quick Search, it will ask prompt the user to enter a search criteria. The Knowledgebase does not base searches off of keywords, but instead, looks at phrases inputted. For example, let's say the problem is HA Doesn't Failover. In the search field, that is the exact phrase you would put in the field. Do Not Enter HA Failover. This will not give as high percentage hit as HA Doesn't Failover.
Fill in as much information about your environment to narrow down the search. Fill in the operation mode, ScreenOS (if applicable), Product, and if NetScreen-Remote or NetScreen-Global-Pro/Express, fill in the software version.
The search will return the top 20 solutions matching the criteria from your search, in order of percentage relevance to the search criteria you specified. If you do not receive the solution you need, click the pulldown menu to see if any of the Similar Issues listed has any relevance to your situation. Do the same with Relevant Information and Associated Statements. The search summary will show you a summary of the search criteria you just entered. Keep entering iterative searches, until it narrows you down to the ultimate solution you were looking. If you could not find what you were looking for, click the email us link, and a Knowledge Engineer will be glad to assist you with searching for your document.
