Configuring a Custom Terminal Server Service
Configured custom service with destination port 3389 Terminal Server on trust side Could not connect with Terminal Server using destination port 3389
This article applies to SceenOS 4.0.0 and above.Microsoft Terminal Server actually uses several different functions. These functions and the ports they use are listed below:
  • RDP Client (Microsoft) - TCP Port 3389
  • ActiveX Client (TSAC) - TCP Ports 80, 3389
  • ICA Client (Citrix) - TCP Port 1494

If the Terminal Server on the trust side uses all of these ports, a custom service needs to be created using these destination ports.

To configure a custom Terminal Server service, perform the following steps:

Open the WebUI. For more information on accessing the WebUI, go to Accessing Your NetScreen Using the WebUI.From the NetScreen options menu, click Objects, select Services, and then click Custom.

From the Custom page, click New.

In the Service Name text box, enter Terminal Server Service.

Under Transport protocol, click to select tcp.Under Source Port Low, enter 1024, and then under Source Port High, enter 65535. Under Destination Port Low, enter 1494, and then under Destination Port High, enter 1494.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 using port 80 and port 3389 for the Destination Port Low and High.Click OK.
