Summary:
Change the default management port (ssh, telnet, http, https) on the NetScreen, ISG, or SSG device.

Goal:
  • How to change the default SSH port on the Juniper firewall
  • How to change the default TELNET port on the Juniper firewall
  • How to change the default HTTP port on the Juniper firewall
  • How to change the default HTTPS port on the Juniper firewall
Solution:

SSH

CLI:
set admin ssh port <port number>

WebUI:
  1. Click Configuration>Admin>Management
  2. In the SSH section, enter the port number desired (port number must be in the range of 1024-32767)
  3. Click Apply.
Note: Enable SSH globally (with 'set ssh enable' command) as well as on the interface to be able to manage via SSH.


TELNET

CLI:
set admin telnet port <port number>

WebUI:
  1. Click Configuration>Admin>Management
  2. For the "Telnet Port", enter the port number desired (port number must be in the range of 1024-32767)
  3. Click Apply.


HTTP

CLI:
set admin port <port number>

WebUI:
  1. Click Configuration>Admin>Management
  2. For HTTP Port, enter the port number desired (port number must be in the range of 1024-32767)
  3. Click Apply.   


HTTPS:

CLI:
set ssl port <port number>

WebUI:
  1. Click Configuration>Admin>Management
  2. For HTTPS(SSL) Port, enter the port number desired
  3. Click Apply.
  Note:  Enable SSL globally (with 'set ssl enable' command), as well as on the interface you want to manage via HTTPS/SSL.
