How to disable or enable the NetScreen Remote (NSR) VPN Client
Symptoms:

How is the NetScreen Remote (NSR) application enabled and disabled?

Solution:

To disable or enable NetScreen Remote, right-click the NetScreen Remote (NSR) icon located in the system tray.

The icon looks like the following: 

In the current version: enable 

In older versions: old ena

Select Activate to ENABLE NS Remote. The system tray icon will change to the following when NetScreen Remote is active:

In older versions: old ena



Select Deactivate to DISABLE NetScreen Remote. The system tray icon will change to the following when NetScreen Remote is deactive:

In the current version: enable

In older versions: old dis

 

To reset NetScreen Remote, select Deactivate, then Activate.

 

Note: If the NetScreen Remote icon is missing from the system tray, following these steps:

  1. From the Start menu, open the Security Policy Editor by selecting  NetScreen-Remote > Security Policy Editor
  2. Once the Security policy editor is opened, from the options menu select  Secure >  All Connections (or the specific connection you would like to enable)
  3. There should now be an icon in the Windows System Tray.  Right click on the icon and select Activate Security Policy to activate NS Remote.
  4. To deactivate, right click on the icon in the Windows System Tray and select Deactivate Security Policy.
