Summary:
Cannot ping anything from the NetScreen in transparent mode
Symptoms:
Default gateway configured on untrust
Cannot ping anything from the NetScreen
Cannot ping directly connected devices
Solution:

Add a static route for the network the NetScreen is on.

Example:

Assume network the NetScreen is on is 1.1.1.0 255.255.255.0. 

From the command line interface (CLI):

Type

set route 1.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 [Enter]

Here is the problem or goal:

  • Cannot ping anything from the NetScreen
  • Cannot ping directly connected devices

Problem Environment:

  • Default gateway configured on untrust
