Symptoms:
email client is using Outlook XP /Office XP email notifications take a long time to open in Outlook

email notifications crashes my outlook client.


Solution:

Outlook XP or 2000 may be inserting extra line breaks in plain text messages (email logs and alerts). This can cause some delays in viewing email alert messages (even if the message has been downloaded locally to the PC's hard drive).

Workaround: In the Outlook client, select the Tools menu>Options>Preferences Tab>Email Options>Uncheck 'Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages'. Restart Outlook
