[ScreenOS] How To define the local BGP router ID

Cause:

Solution:

By default, the local BGP router ID is dynamically assigned by using the highest IP address of the all the interfaces on the current NetScreen device. To define it, use the set vrouter router-id x.x.x.x command via the CLI. For example:

ns500-> set vrouter untrust-vr router-id 10.1.1.1

To check it, type get protocol bgp at the Virtual Router domain level or get vr untrust protocol bgp at the root level:

ns500(untrust-vr)-> get protocol bgp

Local Router ID:       10.1.1.1  <-- LOOK HERE
Local AS number:       10
Hold time:             180
Keepalive interval:    60 = 1/3 hold time, default
Local MED is:          0
Always compare MED:    disable

Confederation:         disable (confederation ID = 0)
