[Archive] Determining the current version of NetScreen-Remote

How to determine the version of NetScreen-Remote (NSR).  The chart below converts the VPN Client SafeNet Build number to the NetScreen-Remote version number.

Symptoms & Errors:

  • Help > About menu gives Security Policy Editor version that does not match the NetScreen-Remote version




The NetScreen-Remote is a product that is OEM'd from SafeNet Inc; based on their Soft Remote product.  Selecting Help > About, displays the Soft Remote version number.  Beginning in NetScreen-Remote 7.0, the version number differed from the Soft Remote version numbers. 

The matrix below shows the SafeNet Soft Remote build number (which is displayed in the Help > About window), and the corresponding NetScreen-Remote version number:

 Note: Windows XP SP2 must run 8.5 or higher.  It is not supported at 8.4 and below.

To obtain the latest version, link to; select ScreenOS Software.  You will need to log in.  If you have trouble obtaining the software, contact Juniper Customer Care at 888-314-5822.
