Article ID: KB6413 KB Last Updated: 02 Jul 2010Version: 4.0
Summary:
Is Track-ip supported in Transparent Mode in any ScreenOS release?
Symptoms:
Track-IP failure causes all devices in a cluster to go Inoperable

Using "set nsrp track-ip a.b.c.d interface v1-untrust" causes backup unit to fail tracking, and device becomes inoperable

"set nsrp track-ip a.b.c.d interface vlan1" causes both devices to go inoperable In transparent mode, failover is monitored only through link status (i.e. link failure)
Solution:

Track-IP is supported in Transparent mode as long as the link-up-on-backup is enabled.  With transparent mode, and track-ip, issue the following command:

set nsrp link-up-on-backup
