[ScreenOS] Allow or disallow the flow of Layer 2 broadcast traffic through the firewall in Transparent mode

Article ID: KB6756 KB Last Updated: 04 Jan 2021Version: 4.0

Should the flow of Layer 2 broadcast traffic be allowed through the ScreenOS firewall in transparent mode?

Problem Environment:
  • Transparent mode
  • Broadcast traffic

If at least one security policy is defined, the default is to allow non-IP broadcast traffic to pass through the firewall in Transparent mode

The following command provides administrative control over the forwarding of non-IPv4 and non-ARP unicast, multicast, and broadcast traffic when the device is in transparent mode:

unset interface vlan1 bypass-non-ip-all
