Summary:
I just received my device but AV won't work. I thought there was a temporary AV key loaded on the device?
Symptoms:
Environment:
  • AV Support Certificate
  • AV Subscription
  • Antivirus (AV)
  • Signature Subscription
  • Temporary AntiVirus Key
  • Activate AV Subscription
Symptoms & Errors:
  • Unable to use AV function
  • Unable to retrieve AV Pattern file from update Server
  • Not sure if Temporary key is loaded on NetScreen-5GT
  • Temporary Key is expired
Solution:

Some firewall devices contained a temporary AntiVirus (AV) key.  It is possible the temporary AV key that was installed at manufacture may have expired already. Please register the device and your signature services subscription to activate your full 12 month subscription.  Consult KB31031 - Non-Junos Licenses - Generate and Install
