What is Query Remote Setting Used For?
Symptoms:
NS-remote vpn client RADIUS server Query Remote Setting Radius authentication works, but attributes are not downloaded NS-Remote connects but Virtual Adaptor is not created even though enabled
Solution:

Check the Query Remote Setting box to ensure that the Netscreen Firewall uses the Radius attributes sent from the Radius server.

These include IP address, Primary and Secondary DNS/WINS addresses.

Here is the problem or goal:

  • Radius authentication works, but attributes are not downloaded
  • NS-Remote connects but Virtual Adaptor is not created even though enabled
