Article ID: KB7322 KB Last Updated: 04 Jun 2010Version: 4.0
Summary:
How can I determine what version of IDP software I'm running
Symptoms:

Solution:

There are three components to the IDP, and all must be at the same MAJOR revision (the first two numbers...1.6, 2.0 & 2.1) for the IDP to function correctly. These components are: the IDP UI, the IDP management server & the IDP sensor.

To find out what version you're running on each of these components:

UI:

Login to the UI on your workstation. Click: Help > About Netscreen -IDP User Interface. The version is the version, followed by the build number (both of these are important if you'll be calling for technical support)

Sensor:

Login to your sensor. As root, type following command: #cat /usr/idp/device/doc/VERSION.

The last entry in this file is the current version (the other entries show the installation history)

Management Server:

Login to your management server.  You'll need to find & cat the file: VERSION. Depending on your installation directory, this could be anywhere, but it defaults to: /usr/idp/mgt-svr/doc/VERSION. To find this file, as user root, use bash and enter: find / -name VERSION.

Example:

#su root
#bash
#find / -name VERSION
#cat <insert results from prior command here>

The last entry is the current version
