Article ID: KB7422 KB Last Updated: 04 Jun 2010Version: 4.0
Summary:
How to remove the mgt-svr software from 3.0r3 Sensor appliance box
Symptoms:
IDP software version 3.0r3 which is build number 72095 originally, the mgt-svr and sensor were installed on the same box, now we want to transition the mgt-svr to its own standalone box. Sensor ACM will still recognize the IDP appliance as having the mgt-svr software installed.
Solution:

First,  copy/move/archive the mgt-svr files under /usr/idp/mgt-svr/var/.  Once that is completed, remove the IDP mgt-svr software from a Sensor appliance box:

1) Go to this directory:

# /usr/idp/

and then you can remove/erase the mgt-svr directories using:

# rm -rf /mgt-svr

2) Remove the 3.0r3 mgt-svr RPM from the box with this command:

# rpm -e idpMgtSvr-3.0-72095

3) Next, reboot the IDP using these commands:

# reboot;reboot

4) When the IDP sensor box comes back up (after the reboot). https to it and walk through the ACM and choose to enter the IP address of the new, standalone mgt-svr host. Also, choose to enter a new OTP (one-time password). The next step will be to go into the IDP gui client, and "add the sensor object"...once this is completed, you will then be able to push/install policies and so forth...
