Why can't I set screening options on an interface?

Article ID: KB7877 KB Last Updated: 27 Aug 2010Version: 3.0
Summary:

Symptoms:
Can't set screening options on an interface.
Solution:
The ability to set screen options on an interface is tied to which zone the interface has been configured.

Check whether the interface is assigned to the HA zone. Screen options are not supported on interfaces configured in the HA zone.

Some NetScreen Firewall devices, such as the ISG,  do not have dedicated HA ports.  It is possible to have a regular interface (e.g. 2/8) configured in the HA zone.  In that case, the screening options will not show.  Zone information can be checked by using the "get int" command.
