Article ID: KB8015 KB Last Updated: 30 Mar 2021Version: 7.0
Summary:

This article explains how to access predefined services on the firewall.

Solution:

Services are types of IP traffic for which protocol standards exist. Each service has a port number associated with it, such as port 21 for FTP and port 80 for HTTP.

When creating a policy, you must specify a service for it. Select one of the predefined services from the service book, or create a custom service or service group. The following is a list of the predefined services:.

To access the predefined services on your Firewall device, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the WebUI. For an example of how to access the WebUI, consult: KB4060 - Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI

  2. From the ScreenOS options menu, click Policy, select Policy Elements, then select Services, and then click Predefined.

  3. From the Predefined screen, you can view the Predefined services.

Modification History:
2021-03-29: Replaced older WebUI snapshot with new one.
