What traffic has to be permitted for the NSM to manage IDP sensors?

Article ID: KB8692 KB Last Updated: 26 Dec 2012Version: 6.0
If a firewall is placed in between of the NSM device server and the IDP sensor, what flows/ports have to be permitted?

Since 2006.1, NSM can manage the IDP sensors.

The traffic flows to be permitted are the following:

TCP/22 is needed to add the IDP sensor into NSM.
TCP/7803 for everything else.

NSM (random port) ----> IDP sensor (tcp/22  or tcp/23)

NSM (tcp/7803) <---- IDP sensor (random port)
