Article ID: KB9804 KB Last Updated: 25 Feb 2013Version: 6.0
Summary:
This article provides information on how to change the default timeout value for the pre-defined ANY service in ScreenOS version 5.3 or later.
Symptoms:
Prior to ScreenOS 5.3, the timeout value for the ANY pre-defined service was displayed as default and this timeout value could not be changed:
ns5xt-> get service any
Name:       ANY
Category:   other          ID:  0   Flag:  Pre-defined
Transport    Src port     Dst port   ICMPtype,code  Timeout(min) Application
    0         0/65535      0/65535                      default
Cause:

Solution:
In ScreenOS 5.3 or later, the actual timeout value for the ANY pre-defined service is displayed in minutes and this value can be changed:
ns5xt-> get service any
Name:       ANY
Category:   other          ID:  0   Flag:  Pre-defined
Transport    Src port     Dst port   ICMPtype,code  Timeout(min) Application
    0         0/65535      0/65535                  30

To change the value, type the following command:

  set service ANY timeout <nnn>         (where <nnn> : valid range 1 - 2160 or never)

Note: In ScreenOS 5.2 or earlier, it accepts the  'set service ANY timeout nnn' command; but it does not take effect.

To revert to the default value, use the
unset service ANY timeout command.After the successful execution of this command, you will see the following output on the CLI:
Service ANY changes back to default timeout.
Note: This task cannot be performed via the WebUI of the device.
