Where can I find the related error logs when processing directives in NSM?

Article ID: KB9851 KB Last Updated: 07 May 2009Version: 5.0
When a problem occurs while processing a directive in NSM, the  information is sent to an error log.  The logs contains the process steps and, if available, stack trace information.

There are two relevant logs when processing directives in NSM for both the Device Server and Gui Server.

The GuiSvr is composed of multiple processes. The corresponding log files are:

GuiSvr Manager (main process):   /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/var/errorLog/guiDaemon.0
Directive Handler:   /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/var/errorLog/gproGDM.log

The DevSvr is also composed of multiple processes.  The corresponding log files are:

Device Daemon (main process):    /usr/netscreen/DevSvr/var/errorLog/deviceDaemon.0
Directive Handler:   /usr/netscreen/DevSvr/var/errorLog/gproDDM.log

The error log can contain a stack trace which corresponds to the error, please refer to  KB9842 - How to interpret a stack trace received in an NSM error   for more information on how to read the stack trace from the log file.
