This white paper contains an example configuration and verification steps for a Client-to-LAN IPsec VPN between Juniper Networks SRX and Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.

VPN requirements:

  • IPsec VPN connection between SRX and Windows Client
  • IKE using PKI Certificates
  • IKE Quickmode using Perfect Forward Secrecy

Client requirements:

  • Client machines must retain IP addresses pre/post tunnel connection. For any given host, a client will only have a single IP address.
  • Client machines must have all traffic protected by IPsec until it reaches the customer premises.
