What version of JATP should I install when adding a new collector?

Article ID: TN322 TECHNOTES Last Updated: 28 Dec 2017Version: 1.0
Description:
  • Customer is installing additional collectors
  • Currently running JATP 4.0
  • Sees that JATP 4.1 is available as an OVA download
  • Wants to know what version of JATP to install on the new collectors

  • The general rule is to install the same version that is running on Core/CM.
  • NEVER install a version higher than the version your core is running
  • However, you can install 1 major release lower (no more than that) and the Collector will automatically upgrade to the same version as the Core/CM
  • JATP major release numbers are the first 2 digits (e.g. 3.3.1.26 the major release is 3.3)
  • If running a pre-GA (General Availability) release we don't always have installer images for the same release - use the prior release and it will install automatically.
