How do I upgrade or update my JATP appliance or installation?

Updates to your Juniper Advanced Threat Prevention systems are provided through our support cloud automatically. Because malware and threats are constantly evolving, so is our software and detection capability. That's why it's important to always have your system as up-to-date as possible.

By default, software upgrades and updates are enabled:

Content Updates should ALWAYS be enabled or you run the risk of decreased detection efficacy.

If you want Upgrades to occur during scheduled maintenance windows, then you can disable Software Updates above and re-enable during change-control windows (minimum 1 hour duration).

JATP appliances continuously check (every :30min) for new system and content updates.

JATP Core/CM (SmartCore) and MCM (Manager of CM) appliances must have internet access on port 443/https in order to upgrade. "Air-gap" installations are not supported at this time.
