Alert Description:
 31 QFX10002-72Q units have been shipped to customers with diag_mode on. This mode is for diagnostics purposes only and should not be enabled on production devices. Having this mode enabled causes interface and fabric related issues. If the serial number of a unit is in the following list, further action is necessary to disabled diag_mode.

Devices with the following serial numbers are affected:

Solution:
 To check if the host /var/diag_mode file exists, use the following command:

root@:RE:0% rsh -JU __juniper_private4__ 192.168.1.1 "ls /var/diag_mode"
/var/diag_mode
root@:RE:0%


Output above indicates that the file /var/diag_mode exists and therefore the undesired diag_mode is enabled.

To delete the host /var/diag_mode file, use the following command:

root@:RE:0% rsh -JU __juniper_private4__ 192.168.1.1 "rm /var/diag_mode"
root@:RE:0%


To verify the host /var/diag_mode file does not exist, use the following command:

root@:RE:0% rsh -JU __juniper_private4__ 192.168.1.1 "ls /var/diag_mode"
ls: cannot access /var/diag_mode: No such file or directory
root@:RE:0%


After the file is deleted, power cycle the system by gracefully powering it down using the command "request system power-off" and by powering it back on.
