DFWD File descriptor leak while accessing Ephemeral configuration database.
|
Ephemeral configuration Instance is used by Network Application (for example Threat Defense Director) which will netconf and update the configuration in the ephemeral configuration instances which will then be consumed by the respective Junos processes during reconfiguration processes. In this scenario, the file descriptors belong to "firewall process" (DFWD) was not closed after reading each instance of ephemeral configuration resulting in the file descriptors exhaustion. When DFWD no longer can get a file descriptor, the DFWD may restart or suspended. Resulting in filter programs inconsistency in the PFEs.

In BGP Graceful Restart scenario, including helper mode which is enabled by default, rpd would core dump due to improper handling of BGP Graceful Restart stale routes during the BGP neighbor deleting. The rpd would crash and service/traffic impact would occur.
