On QFX5K and EX46xx devices with VXLAN enabled , ARP request may get dropped if storm control is configured

Alert Description:
ARP request get dropped on QFX5K and EX46xx devices when all of the following conditions are met.
  1. Storm control is enabled on any of the port.
  2. VXLAN is enabled
  3. Arp-suppression is enabled.

Due to PR 1515254 QFX5K and EX46xx devices  with VXLAN configured interfaces are incorrectly dropping ARP Request packets when storm-control is configured.

  • 18.2R3-S3,18.2R3-S4
  • 18.3R2-S4, 18.3R3-S2
  • 18.4R2-S4,18.4R3-S1 , 18.4R3-S2 , 18.4R3-S3
  • 19.1R2-S1,19.1R3
  • 19.2R2,
  • 19.3R2-S2 ,19.3R3
  • 19.4R2
  • 20.1R1
Fix will be available on all JUNOS upcoming branches fixed via PR 1469837 including 18.4R3-S4 and 18.4R2-S5.


  1. Either Disable storm-control on all interfaces
  2. or Enable "no-arp-suppression" on all VLANs
