Article ID: TSB17810 TECHNICAL_BULLETINS Last Updated: 06 Aug 2020Version: 2.0
Alert Type:
PSN - Product Support Notification
Product Affected:
QFX10002
Alert Description:
This is a notification of documentation change for QFX10002 Switch installation. The following paragraph will be removed:

A ground connection to the protective earthing terminal is not required for an AC-powered switch. The AC power cords provide adequate grounding when you connect the power supply in the switch to a grounded AC power outlet by using the AC power cord appropriate for your geographical location. See AC Power Cord Specifications for a QFX Series Device.

Solution:
For AC-powered switches, a ground connection to the two-hole lug system earthing terminal on side of the chassis is the preferred method over relying on power cord. Note that all EMC emissions and immunity validation has been evaluated with the two-hole lug chassis earthing configuration.
For details, please see the following figure.

Juniper has determined this to be best practice and will be modifying documentation.
