[SRX] Are licenses needed for each node of a chassis cluster for licensed features?

Article ID: KB15425 KB Last Updated: 23 Oct 2020Version: 2.0

Does each node in the chassis cluster need an individual license for all licensed features? This article provides an answer for this question.

Yes, when two devices are in a chassis cluster, then a license needs to be installed on each node. A license for a specific feature, for example AV, is tied to the serial number of a device. If only one device in the chassis cluster has the license for a licensed feature, then if a failover occurs, the licensed feature will not work.
