[SRX] Limitation for syslog server configuration under stream mode

Summary:

This article explains the limitations of stream mode syslog server configuration.

Symptoms:

SRX Devices has a limitation of either 3 or 8 servers which can be configured for stream mode.

[edit security log]
'stream'
number of elements exceeds limit of 3  //or 8
error: configuration check-out failed: (number of elements exceeds limit)

Solution:

Branch:

  • 100/110/210/220/240/550/650: supports 3 syslog servers.
  • ​Srx550m: Starting in Junos 15.1X49-D90 supports 8 syslog servers.
  • ​Srx300/320/340/345: Starting in Junos 15.1X49-D70 supports 8 syslog servers.

High End:

  • SRX3400/3600: supports 3 syslog servers.
  • SRX5800/5600: Starting in Junos 15.1X49-D90 supports 8 syslog servers.
  • SRX5400 :Starting in Junos 15.1X49-D150 supports 8 syslog servers.
  • SRX 1500 /SRX 4100/SRX 4200: Starting in Junos 15.1X49-D70 supports 8 syslog servers.
