Note: This article applies to ScreenOS 4.0 and higher.

To define an IP on an interface, perform the following steps:

Step one: Open the WebUI. For an example of how to access the WebUI, consult: KB4060 - Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI

Step two: From the ScreenOS options menu, click Network, and then click Interfaces.

Step three: From the interface list, click to choose the interface you wish to modify, and click Edit.

Note: For this example, we chose to edit the ethernet1 interface.

Step four: From the IP Address / Netmask text box, enter the IP address and netmask you wish to assign to the selected interface.

Note: For this example, we chose to enter an IP Address and Netmask of 192.168.1.2 / 24.

Step five: Click OK.
