  • This article is applicable to ScreenOS 5.0 or later.

  • With policy-based Network Address Translation (NAT), you can translate the source address on either incoming or outgoing network and VPN traffic. The new source address can come from either a Dynamic IP (DIP) pool or Mapped IP (MIP).

To use the NAT option in a policy, perform the following procedure:


Step one: Open the WebUI. For more information on accessing the WebUI, go to Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI.

Step two: From the NetScreen options menu, click Policies.

Step three: From the Policies screen, select the policy you wish to modify and click Edit.

Step four: From the policy configuration page, click Advanced.

Step five: From the Advanced Policy Settings page, click to select NAT.

Step six: Select the DIP ID to be used. There might be multiple DIPs configured on the same interface and there is a option to select the egress interface as well. For information on how to configure a DIP, go to Using a DIP Pool.

Step seven: Click Return.
