Unable to authenticate using the WebAuth IP

0

0

Article ID: KB6528 KB Last Updated: 20 Aug 2010Version: 4.0
Summary:
Unable to authenticate using the WebAuth IP
Symptoms:
Environment:
  • webauth
  • set admin port 8080
Solution:

If the NetScreen web admin port is set to anything other than 80, you may get the following:

Debug output sample:

 ****** 00079.0: <Trust/ethernet1> packet received [48]******
   ipid = 42919(a7a7), @c7d01070
   ethernet1:192.168.1.4/3028->192.168.1.200/80,6
   self check, return 0
   packet dropped, self, not interested

NetScreen configuration sample:

set admin port 8080
set interface "ethernet1" webauth
set interface "ethernet1" webauth-ip 192.168.1.200

Since the NetScreen is listening for port 8080, webauth attempts using standard port 80 will fail (this is why you get the "packet dropped, self, not interested" message in the debug). When connecting to the webauth server, please connect as:

http://192.168.1.200:8080
